Mr Corn Ltd · Last updated: 28/05/2026 · Version 1.0
Short version.
- Damaged, wrong, or not delivered? Tell us within 30 days and you’ll get a refund, replacement, or repair — your choice within the statutory limits.
- Non-perishable items (cups, lids, paper bags, equipment, sealed packaged goods) can be returned for any reason within 14 days of delivery, unused and resaleable.
- Perishable food (fresh corn, fresh produce, chilled or frozen) is excluded from the 14-day “change of mind” right — but your statutory rights for faulty, damaged, or wrong goods still apply in full.
- Custom or personalised work is excluded from the 14-day “change of mind” right — again, faulty-goods rights still apply.
1. Your statutory rights — at a glance
You have two main rights under UK law:
(a) Consumer Rights Act 2015 — applies to all goods, whatever they are.
- If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you have a short-term right to reject and a full refund within 30 days of delivery (CRA 2015 s.22).
- After 30 days, you have a right to a repair or replacement; if that fails, a partial or full refund (CRA 2015 s.23–24).
(b) Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (“CCR 2013”) — applies to most distance sales (online, phone, mail-order) by traders to consumers.
- You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind and cancel, then a further 14 days to return the goods (Reg 30, 34, 35).
- Several categories of goods are excluded from this right (see §3 and §6).
This policy doesn’t take any of those rights away — it sits on top of them and tells you how we apply them at Mr Corn.
2. The 14-day “change of mind” cancellation — for non-perishable items
For items that aren’t perishable and aren’t custom (such as cups, lids, paper bags, equipment, gift sets in resaleable packaging, sealed seasoning, etc.):
- You have 14 calendar days from the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods to tell us you want to cancel.
- After telling us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods to us.
- The goods must be in re-saleable condition (unused, original packaging intact, seals unbroken on sealed items). You may handle them only as you reasonably would in a shop to decide whether you want to keep them — if you’ve reduced their value beyond that, we may deduct the loss (CCR 2013 Reg 34(9)).
- We will refund the price you paid (including standard outbound delivery, but not any premium upgrade you chose) within 14 days of either receiving the goods back, or receiving evidence you’ve sent them — whichever is earlier (CCR 2013 Reg 34(6)).
- Return postage: unless we sent the wrong item or the item is faulty, you pay return postage.
To tell us, use any of:
- The contact form on the site,
- Email us at returns@mrcorn.uk.com,
- Phone us on 07983 667783 (Mon–Fri 9am–5pm),
- Or fill in the model cancellation form below.
Model cancellation form (adapted from CCR 2013, Schedule 3 Part B)
To: Mr Corn Ltd, 24 Curtis Farm Business Park, Curtis Farm, Fobbing, Essex SS17 9JJ, United Kingdom.
I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract of sale of the following goods:
• Order number: ______
• Ordered on / Received on: ______
• Your name: ______
• Your address: ______
• Signature (only if sending on paper): ______
• Date: ______
You don’t have to use the form — any clear statement of cancellation is enough.
3. Items excluded from the 14-day “change of mind” right
Under CCR 2013 Reg 28, the 14-day change-of-mind right does not apply to:
- Perishable goods — fresh corn, fresh produce, chilled and frozen food, anything that deteriorates or expires rapidly (Reg 28(1)(d))
- Sealed food items unsealed after delivery — once you’ve broken the seal on chips, seasoning, or similar consumable items (Reg 28(3)(c), “goods that are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons and were unsealed after delivery”)
- Custom, personalised, or bespoke items — anything made to your specification (Reg 28(1)(b))
- Gift cards / vouchers — once issued, gift cards cannot be cancelled or refunded under our policy
- Items inseparably mixed with other goods after delivery (Reg 28(1)(e))
For these items, the 14-day “change your mind” right doesn’t apply — but your rights for faulty, damaged, or wrong goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (see §4) still apply in full.
4. Faulty, damaged, or wrong items — Consumer Rights Act 2015
If your order arrives:
- Damaged in transit,
- Faulty — doesn’t work, doesn’t look like it should, contaminated, spoiled before its labelled use-by date,
- Wrong — you got something you didn’t order, or the wrong quantity,
- Not as described on the site,
…then tell us within 30 days of delivery and you have the short-term right to reject the goods for a full refund (CRA 2015 s.22). For perishable food, please tell us within 24 hours of delivery while the issue is still verifiable.
After 30 days, you keep the right to a repair or replacement (or partial / full refund if repair or replacement isn’t possible). For non-perishable items this longer right runs for up to 6 years from delivery under the Limitation Act 1980.
Photos help. When you contact us about a damaged or spoiled item, please attach a photo — it speeds up the refund.
5. Custom / personalised / bespoke orders
Items in our Custom Work category — including branded printing, made-to-order quantities, customer-specified seasoning blends, or any item produced to a specification you’ve given us — are excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind right under CCR 2013 Reg 28(1)(b).
You still have the CRA 2015 rights above if the work is faulty, doesn’t match the specification you agreed in writing, or doesn’t match a sample we provided.
For larger custom orders, we will ask you to confirm specifications in writing (email is fine) before we start production. Once production has started, change-of-mind cancellation is not possible because the items cannot be resold to anyone else.
6. Perishable food — specifics
For fresh corn, fresh produce, chilled food, and frozen food:
- Excluded from the 14-day change-of-mind right under CCR 2013 Reg 28(1)(d).
- Still covered by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — if the food is spoiled, contaminated, past its labelled use-by date on arrival, mis-described, or not delivered at the chilled / frozen temperature it should have been, tell us within 24 hours of delivery with a photo where possible.
- Don’t return spoiled or contaminated food — destroy it safely. A clear photo of the item, the packaging, and (where relevant) the use-by date or temperature label is enough evidence.
7. Gift cards
- Gift cards are non-refundable once issued.
- Unredeemed balances expire 12 months from issue. Where we hold the original purchaser’s email address, we will send a reminder before expiry.
- If a gift card is lost or stolen, contact us — if it has not yet been redeemed we may, at our discretion, issue a replacement.
8. How long refunds take
- We process refunds within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or, for valid 14-day cancellations, within 14 days of receiving proof of postage).
- The refund goes back to the original payment method via Takepayments.
- Depending on your bank or card issuer, refunds usually clear in a further 3–10 working days on your statement.
9. Return postage and address
- Return address: Mr Corn Ltd — Returns, 24 Curtis Farm Business Park, Curtis Farm, Fobbing, Essex SS17 9JJ, United Kingdom. Please include your order number and a brief note inside the parcel.
- For non-perishable items, we strongly recommend using a tracked service — we can only refund items that actually reach us.
- Where the original delivery was made by our own vehicle and you live within our normal delivery area, we may be able to arrange collection on a return trip — please ask when you contact us.
- For faulty / damaged / wrong items, we will arrange collection or refund return postage to a sensible cost.
- For change-of-mind returns, you pay return postage.
- For perishable food, do not post returns — destroy safely and send us a photo.
10. EU customers — equivalent rights
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have equivalent cancellation and faulty-goods rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) as transposed into your member state’s law. The 14-day cooling-off period and the exclusions for perishable, sealed-and-unsealed, and custom goods are broadly the same.
You may also have additional rights under your local consumer law — those rights are not overridden by this policy.
For cross-border disputes, EU consumers can use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
